2017

A theater, film and photo project around the artist Ringelnatz for young people with refugee experience.

The young people come from Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Somalia and the Ivory Coast and now live in Cuxhaven or in the district. They have discovered a new place of life and take part in the project “Refugees Rap Ringelnatz”. The approx. 20 participants with refugee experience provided texts and sites of action of Ringelnatz in Cuxhaven and developed materials for theater, music, rap, spoken word and choreographies.

The young people aged 18 to 26 are on a special search through Cuxhaven. They find the writer Joachim Ringelnatz in the museum and other places in Cuxhaven. Ringelnatz is associated with the “today” and helps the refugees to an identification with their place of life. They can take an advanced approach to the newly learned language and a different perspective on a well-known poet.
