Theater and dance scenes as a flash mob with young people on the subject of ‘refugees’

Das Letzte Kleinod has been creating documentary theater projects for years: conversations with people about their stories become plays. The documentary principle also lies with the youth project H.O.P.E. The young people not only provide the material for the plot with their stories, but also become authors, directors, dancers and actors themselves. The approximately 20 young people live in the district of Cuxhaven and come from Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia and Afghanistan. They talked about their homeland and their escape and how they felt when they arrived here. For several weeks, they have been assisted in the realisation of the stories by twenty students from the Max-Eyth-Schule Schiffdorf and developed a joint theater and dance play. This is publicly staged as a flash mob in various everyday locations.

A cooperation of the theater Das Letzte Kleinod with the youth migration service of the Paritätischen Wohlfahrtsverbandes Niedersachsen e.V., Kreisverband Cuxhaven and the Max-Eyth-Schule Schiffdorf. The project has been funded by Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung in the scope of „Tanz + Theater machen stark.
