Thousands of people gathered in the ports as the research vessel METEOR left for sea in the spring of 1925. In two and a half years the ship would cruise the South-Atlantic in 13 ship crossings, researching upon the flows of the ocean. The theater piece METEOR gives an exciting inside-view in the working conditions of the scientists and life onboard, then and now. The performance will take place at the Deutschen Schiffahrtmuseum and in the Oceanblue Train at several train stations in Germany.

The project is supported by the Federal Ministery of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung), embedded in the scientifical year of 2016*17 - Seas and Oceans, as well as by the Ministery of Niedersächsen for Science and Culture, the foundation Niedersachsen, the Transwaggon GmbH, the Landschaftsverband Stade, the city of Stade, the Alles Gute-foundation of Kreissparkasse Stade, the state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the district Cuxhaven, and the Weser-Elbe Sparkasse. In cooperation with the Landesbühne Niedersachsen Nord and the Frankfurt Oder Gmbh for fairs and events.
